Give Back with the Gift of Time: Charity Watches

You’d be hard-pressed to find a person without a watch on their wrist, lest they be the butt of a “half-past the freckle” dad joke. Indeed, the ability to measure time is a high priority for just about everyone. It’s the nature of most upstanding members of society to care about where they should be and when: getting to work on time so they don’t lose their jobs, showing up to appointments so that they don’t get charged, and so on.

Of course, measuring time isn’t inherently negative or positive. Time can be measured to count down to a fun occasion or to reminisce about a period of time that has already passed. And now? Measuring time with charity watches can provide you with an opportunity to give back to causes that you’re passionate about.

About Elements Watch Company

Certainly, there are a lot of different types of watches to choose from that already exist in the marketplace.

Luxury watches are a favorite piece of businesspeople looking to show off their status. Apple Watches and other fitness-enabled time tracking devices are favored by those who want to measure various fitness signals while receiving notifications about everything they need to know about during the day.

In either of the aforementioned situations, there’s an element of flashiness involved with choosing a watch to suit your lifestyle. You want people to notice your watch and comment on it, perhaps complimenting you on your fine taste. If you didn’t care, you could use a smartphone for any of the aforementioned tasks. Knowing all of this about people and how they wear watches, we were wondering… how can a person use their watch for good?

Enter Elements Watch Company—watches with a charity twist! Every charity watch is designed with an industrial minimalism aesthetic that looks good on you, no matter what you’re wearing. We think you’ll agree that our watch’s simple black band and black watch face suits any wearer and any situation: casual or formal.

The distinguishing factor that separates each watch? The color accent: each corresponding to a certain cause.

For every charity watch we sell, we’ll be donating 10% of the proceeds to the causes represented by each watch.

In the meantime, we’re focusing on 4 major causes that are close to our hearts. Here’s why we think you’ll be interested in helping us to provide them with charitable contributions:

Orange for Animal Cruelty

Once people started domesticating animals, they also took on a new level of responsibility as far as it comes to caring for them. Animal abuse doesn’t necessarily mean being violent towards animals—it can also involve neglecting those put into our care.

According to the Humane Society of the United States:

  • People charged with animal abuse have a high correlation to violent crimes against human beings, meaning that fighting animal abuse benefits more than just the animals.
  • On a related note, 71 percent of domestic violence victims reported that their abuser also targeted pets. Abuse can affect many parties in the same household.
  • A majority of anti-cruelty laws are limited to cases involving aggravated cruelty, torture, or cruelty to companion animals. This means that a lot of abuse falls through the administrative cracks when not classified in one of these ways.

By channeling 10% of sales from our animal cruelty charity watch to causes that fight animal abuse, you can help influence and change these sad statistics.

Pink for Breast Cancer

Breast cancer is one of the most common types of cancer for people to fight as a personal cause. It’s for good reason: one in eight women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. This means that your mom, sister, aunt, girlfriend—someone you know will probably deal with it at some point in your life.

Drawing attention to this cause is partially about raising money to research a cure (and treatment options for those who already have it) but it’s also about raising awareness for women to get checked early and often. Regular screenings can catch early signs of breast cancer before it becomes something untreatable.

Wearing our breast cancer charity watch can help open up the discussion and remind women to take precautions against one of the most common forms of cancer.

Blue for Education

Education is the key to success...

Time and time again we always here the sad and unfortunate stories about children who cannot afford to have basic school supplies to help them excel at school. By purchasing one of our charity watches, we will donate to programs that help get these children proper school materials and help supply resources to inner city and under funded schools across the United States.

Red for AIDS

HIV and AIDS remain a persistent problem for the United States and countries around the world. While great progress has been made in preventing and treating HIV, there is still much to do....

One of the most misunderstood epidemics of our time, our red LIFE watch aims to raise money for the research necessary to turn things around. Show your support for those fighting AIDS with one of our newest watches! As with the rest of our offerings, you can grab this watch in 36mm or 40mm.
